I want my old life back…

Up until a few years ago when I was still running our menswear fashion agency together with my wife, this was the time of the year when we were getting ready for the new selling season for the upcoming winter.

This period started with shows in Berlin, Amsterdam, Florence and it was an exciting time with lots of contacts with retailers and entrepreneurs, colleagues from all over Europe and great parties.

Our business was quite successful, but after almost 18 years we felt it was time for something different.

We sold everything, moved to Spain, and started a new life with only a blank sheet and the confidence that with an open mind good things would come our way.

So, when I was thinking about all of this in the first days of the new year, I was wondering whether I would move back into our old life again if I could in a hassle-free way.

Well, … I wouldn’t.

Not because our old life was bad; on the contrary it was a very good life, but we were both curious to find out what would happen if we would follow our hearts.

In the meantime, my wife, has made her dream come true setting up www.Habitarmonia.com ; an interior design studio that helps people from all over the world to create homes and workplaces that increase their overall well-being.

Our 3 kids have grown beyond imagination (not only because of my cooking skills 😃 , living an experience that will be an enrichment for the rest of their lives.

And for me, I have finally found my path beginning of last year when I decided to become a coach so I can help people discover and make their own dreams come true and maximize their potential.

2022 is the year I am graduating from ICA get my ICF accreditation and start as a Positive Intelligence coach.

This, and many more things that I couldn’t even have imagined a few years ago have come onto our path. We have gotten to know so many inspiring people from all over the world, learned so much about ourselves, and it feels like it is just the beginning.

It was a big scary leap (Yulia Stark gave us the final push), but also a very rewarding one, and this is why I wouldn’t trade this magnificent experience back for our past life.

I look at the future with excitement and curiosity for all the things that will happen, the new projects and plans that will come, and all the people we will still get to know. It makes me feel humble and grateful for this life.

What small or big dreams do you have and what is keeping you from making them come true?

Let me know in the comments or drop me a message if you want to share them.

I wish you an exciting, inspiring, and healthy 2022.

Make something great out of it.

Cheers,
Bart
