How great entrepreneurs and leaders are created

Guess who’s me 😁

I have been an enthusiastic scouts member for most of my youth.

It was a place where you learned to get along with all kinds of people, collaborate and experience great adventures, and I made friends for life.

Later as a leader, I got to create the most fantastic experiences with sometimes very limited resources, which sparked your creativity.

Like Wolfgang von Goethe famously said: “In der Beschränkung zeigt sich erst der Meister.”

For me, there was nothing more rewarding than to see the smiles of the kids when they arrived at their summer camp and saw all the fantastic structures we had created with just wood, rope and a few shelters.

Or when they discovered the day’s activities, announced at the flagpole early in the morning.

Summer camp was when we created our own magic world with them.

Sparking their creativity, ingenuity and fantasy.

All of them grew massively during those eight days away from home.

Little boys became a bit taller and prouder of themselves than when they arrived.

As young as they were, they learned to take responsibility for themselves and their peers.

How to solve conflicts and stand up for themselves and their peers, and the power of empathy.

They learned to take the initiative and use their imagination to come up with solutions to wouldn’t otherwise think of.

And maybe the most important part; they developed a love for nature and experienced that we are all part of something bigger (it’s easy to realise that when you look at millions of stars✨sitting around a campfire every night).

So, it’s no surprise that many later became successful leaders and entrepreneurs.

I have the fondest memories of those years, they even get better with age 😊.

And what’s interesting, the people I get to work with today, successful leaders and entrepreneurs, are not much different from the kids I had these great times with.

What often happens throughout their busy lives is that they lose contact with their dreams and desires because life at the top is lonely and full of heavy responsibilities.

It can be extremely stressful and completely squeeze the life and creativity out of your bones.

Luckily everyone still has that little kid inside, and it’s just a matter of uncovering it again to create fantastic breakthroughs in your life.

Because the mix of stepping into being your true self in combination with your experience, talents and desires creates a powerful cocktail that allows you to leave an incredible legacy.

Even more, than you can imagine!

It’s a pity seeing that go to waste, and uncovering that inner genius is what drives me.

Does this speak to you?

Don’t hesitate to reach out.

Magic might happen.

Have a great day!

❤️ Bart
